PayPal CEO Invited to White House

Chief Executive Officer of Leading Online Payments Service Will Attend High-Tech Forum with President Bush

Palo Alto, CA - March 27, 2001 - PayPal Chief Executive Officer Peter Thiel will attend a White House forum Wednesday on high-tech issues, the leading online payments service announced today. The exclusive event, limited to approximately 100 influential technology executives, is the first major meeting of high-tech industry leaders with President George W. Bush since he took office. Scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in the East Room, the forum will feature remarks from President Bush and the Secretaries of Commerce, Energy and Education, and will include a question-and-answer session moderated by Floyd Kvamme of Kleiner Perkins. A variety of industry and national issues will be addressed, including education, high-tech immigration visas, California's energy situation and proposed European Union privacy standards.
