Inventory and Profit & Loss Report

This report enables you to track your inventory, and view detailed information regarding the revenue generated from the buttons you created and added to your website. It offers the following:

Generating an Inventory and Profit & Loss Report

Perform the following steps to generate a report:

  1. Select a time period you want to retrieve transaction information for. You have the following options -

  1. Select the Currency type from the drop-down menu to display all transactions in that currency. You can only view transactions for one currency type at a time.

  2. Click View Report to generate the report.

Viewing Inventory and Profit & Loss Report  Results

The report displays the transactions that fit the date range and currency criteria you selected. You can click Print to print the report, or download the report in the following formats:

 

Field

Description

Button ID

Unique identifier for a button (specified by PayPal).

Item ID

Unique identifier for an inventory item (specified by you).

Item name

Name of the item or service you wish to sell. One Item ID can correspond to multiple Item Names since you can change the name of the item over time.

Current inventory

Number of items available at the time the report is generated. This number changes over time as it is reflects items being added by you and purchased by buyers.

Note that the current inventory amount indicates the latest number of items in your inventory. It is not the number of items in your inventory during the time period (date range) for which you generated the report.

No. of items sold

Number of items sold in the time period (date range) for which you generated the report.

Selling price min.

Minimum selling price that was charged to the buyer for a particular item in your inventory. The price does not include shipping and taxes.

If you set a minimum price for an item but that item is not sold at that price, then that minimum price will not appear in this report. A transaction has to occur at that minimum price in order for it to appear in this report.

Selling price max.

Maximum selling price that was charged to the buyer for a particular item in your inventory. The price does not include shipping and taxes.

If you set a maximum price for an item but that item is not sold at that price, then that maximum price will not appear in this report. A transaction has to occur at that maximum price in order for it to appear in this report.

Current price

The latest price for the item in your inventory.

Note that the current price indicates the latest price of items in your inventory. It is not the price of items in your inventory during the time period (date range) for which you generated the report, as you may have changed the price over time.

Cost price min.

Minimum price you paid your suppliers for the items in your inventory. The price does not include shipping and tax amount.

Cost price max.

Maximum price you paid your suppliers for the items in your inventory. The price does not include shipping and tax amount.

Discount amt.

Discount given for the transaction.

PayPal fees

Fees you paid to PayPal for transactions.

Refunds

Total amount in refunds during the time period (date range) for which you generated the report.

Shipping amt.

Amount you charge the buyer for shipping.

Tax amt.

Amount you charge the buyer in taxes.

Gross amt.

Total sum of each item (including the selling price of the item + shipping amount + tax amount) - (sum of Refund amount) that you charge the buyer.

Profit

Total profit (or loss) amount for each item, determined by gross amount - (PayPal fees + cost price).

Profit margin

Your profit (or loss) margin, as determined by total sum of profit divided by total sum of gross amount.
